Food Control

 Food Control~

Narrated by Miqdam bin Ma'dikarib: I heard the Messenger of Allah saying: 'A person does not fill any container that is worse than his stomach. It is sufficient for the son of Adam to eat what will support his back. If this is not possible, then a maximum third for food, a third for drink, and third for his breath." Jami' Al-Tirmidhi 2380

Allah Almighty has created human beings and He knows best what is good for them. He has allowed us to seek His provisions and to moderately indulge in the blessings and bounties that He has placed at our disposal. Yet He has set guidelines and conditions on their usage, He states: "And eat and drink, but do not be exercise. Indeed, He likes not those who are excessive."

Obesity and overeating have become a big challenge in our modern and technologically advanced society. The Prophet teaches us that the maximum one should eat is up to one-third of the stomach, anything beyond that would be excessive. He would discourage overeating and has said: "The most hungry of you on the Day of Resurrection will be those who ate their fill in this world."

Having a controlled and healthy died allows one's body to function well and at a comfortable level to be able to fulfill one's daily chores and acts of worship without laziness and fatigue.
